Snowshoeing

If you can walk, then you can snowshoe! What a great way to enjoy the outdoors in the winter time, get some exercise and have fun all at the same time!

Hardwood boasts 14 kms of dedicated snowshoe trails for all ability levels. We offer three loops that are one way and both bring you back to the chalet. Lynx loop runs clockwise for a 3km loop, with a shortcut option. Fox loop runs counter clockwise to The Lookout for a 5 km loop with, with a shortcut option. Phatty is a fatbike and snowshoe trail crossing into adjacent property for a 6km loop, with 3 shortcut options.

What to Wear Snowshoeing:

You do not need to buy any special snowshoeing clothing, but it does help to dress properly. Try to dress in layers that can be taken off or added as you get warmer or colder. Try to avoid cotton as it tends to soak up water. Synthetic fabrics are much better. Most people wear a layer next to the skin followed by a fleece sweater, and then by a jacket.  Warm snow pants are also recommended.

You will also need a good ski hat or toque, very warm mittens or gloves and warm socks. A buff is also a good idea to protect your neck and face from the wind chill.

Our retail shop is fully stocked with everything that you will need for clothing and accessories
